The summer has been filled with packing and organizing, but we still make time to have fun at J Play, the park, and even the farmer's market in Hyde Park.

Happy Father's Day
Apparently moving into a new home puts other tasks aside, so now it's catch up time for Nina's blog...
Our newest summer ritual is going to the zoo every Sunday morning, so what better way to start Father's Day? Nina loved seeing the giraffes up close, and was more than happy to walk around like a big girl. That night we had dinner at Nanna and Papa's house - yum!

Rainy Days in Houston
We did not get to spend much time in the pool, so instead Nina hung out with Kenna, her new best bud. She also got to have some sushi, drive a sports car, and help Mommy pack up stuff to send to Cincinnati. Nina loved all her time with Grandma and Poppy!
Fun at the Ranch
Our quick visit to the ranch was perfect for Nina: swinging, splashing, playing with cousins, and driving the truck kept her fully occupied. Luckily the rain stayed away to let us be outside all day long!
Travel to Texas
Flying with a toddler is very different than with a baby - not as messy but oh so much more demanding on the entertainment front. She is still a happy traveler, so no complaints here!

Avid Reader
The love of books continues... Her current favorites are Corduroy, Hush Little Baby, and The Itsy Bitsy Spider. Several times a day she runs into her room, comes out with a book, and scoots backwards to sit down in our laps so we know it is time to read. She even picks out books to read to her baby doll!
New Hairstyle
Nina's hair is so long!! Now I can put it into pigtails... if I can distract her long enough to get it done. She doesn't mind once I'm done and it's a much better way to keep all that hair out of her face.
Wild About the Zoo
Our new Sunday ritual is going out for breakfast and getting to the zoo before it opens up to the public. We love having the whole place to explore without crowds and before the heat is too much. By now we have seen every exhibit, and some of Nina's favorites are the gorillas, penguins, lions, and polar bears. She also loves talking to the monkeys, brushing goats and touching any animals the zookeepers have on display (lizards, snakes, etc).
Washington Park
Downtown Cincy has a great park, right across from Music Hall and some really good restaurants. It has a nice big dog park, splash fountains, a playground with a castle, and a huge lawn that hosts aerobics and yoga classes free for the community.
Nina loved the dog park, watching pups play around and getting a few wet kisses. Then she couldn't resist the splash fountains. Even though I took off her shoes and pants she got soaked, hence the topless look at the playground. Isn't that what being a kid is all about?!
