Fwd: Happy 5 Months!

Well, we are a day early, but we wanted to have plenty of time to spend on Nina's monthly photo shoot.  We've got some cute ones here...  Now she can hold her head up steadily so that when we help her sit or even stand she can take a good look around.  She is very smiley and giggly too, but as soon as she sees the camera she focuses on that instead.

On a Roll, Part 2

Well, much to our delight Nina has been rolling (or toppling) over from tummy to back several times today. I doubt she's interested in rolling as a way of getting around, but she is certainly practicing her new skill!

Making Friends

Everywhere she goes, Nina is ready to make friends: at Dad's office, at the pilates studio, and at dinner. She is very sociable and loves meeting new people!

Talking with Daddy

Nina got to visit Daddy's office again, and on the way home she had a lengthy conversation with him. Listen carefully for her Oooos and Uuhhhs. What a chatterbox!

Happy Mother's Day!

What a wonderful day! Nina got Mother's Day started bright and early at 5:00 am by waking up and squealing like a dolphin playing with a squeaky toy. We had a delicious dim sum lunch, a nice walk around the neighborhood, and plenty of play time with Nina.

I now realize that baby dresses look so cute on the hanger, but are not at all practical! Nina just thought her dress was something soft to grab and pull, so she could've cared less. All she wants to do is try to roll around and eat her hands - which she often does at the same time. Her newest trick is screeching very loudly... when she wakes up, when she's on her tummy, when she's hungry, when she's tired... pretty much all the time. Hope she grows out of that before her next plane ride!

Happy 4 Months!

How time flies... isn't that how I start each birthday entry?  Well, it's still true.  In just the last month Nina has started smiling on a regular basis, putting fingers in her mouth all the time, gripping toys, and sleeping around eight hours every night.  We love everything about her, but nothing brings more joy than to see her face light up with a huge grin when she sees us.

Four-Month Check Up

There she is: 5.75 kg or 12.7 pounds! Dr. Lin said she looks great - she wouldn't have guessed Nina was a preemie. Nina was a champ for her shots again (although watching her nearly suffocate on a big scream was not fun for Mommy) and had a super snuggle at home.
