Washington Park

Late in February we took advantage of a gorgeous sunny morning and headed downtown to Washington Park. Nina was super excited to try out all the equipment, and really loved running up and down the grassy hills. We recharged with a scrumptious brunch at Pontiac, a BBQ restaurant in nearby Over-the-Rhine.

Random Photos

Well, we haven't had any major events recently, so here is a sampling of our last month of just hanging out.

1) Nina suffering a terrible fever at the end of January, spending lots of time snuggled on the couch with the healing powers of her Texas blanket from Aunt Eva.

2) Nina dressing herself and "shopping" throughout the house.

3) Nina hugging her new pink monkey, a Valentine's gift from Great Maureen.

4) Nina spending her weekend nap time singing to herself and stripping down completely. She was very pleased with herself.

Happy Birthday... Again!

We celebrated Nina's birthday again, this time with just a few friends. The Brown Bear theme inspired lots of yummy treats, the girls loved our no-touch finger painting, and Nina was thrilled to have so many visitors in her house. She was quick to blow out the candles on her cookie, and of course was excited to open more presents. She is officially two years old - after so many celebrations, it's indisputable!

Nina's Birthday at School

The birthday celebrations continued at the J with Nina's classmates. I was lucky enough to have a nice long visit, sharing photos of Nina when she was a new born and just one year old and sharing the Montessori birthday ritual of walking around the sun for each year of her life. And of course we finished off by devouring cupcakes!

Happy Birthday!

As if the holidays weren't busy enough, Nina celebrated her 2nd birthday right after Christmas.  More presents!  Elmo!  Cake!  What's not to love about turning two??  She loved being the center of attention, surrounded by all her family and loads of new toys, clothes, books, and art supplies.

Merry Christmas

Nina had several celebrations this season: Christmas party at the club, Hanukkah at school (sorry, no photos), Christmas Eve dinner, and Christmas day.  She was a star for it all... except for sitting on Santa's lap.  She was not a fan, to say the least.  Despite having a fever she loved Christmas day, unwrapping tons of gifts and trying out new clothes and toys.  She especially loved having Ra-Ra and Poppi visiting from Texas - more people to listen to her non-stop chattering!

Happy Thanksgiving

Whoa, time flies!  Great Maureen came to visit over Thanksgiving, and the cold weather made the delicious food taste even better.  Nina loved playing the piano with Toby, her music-loving cousin.
